Mark Cavendish wins third stage of Tour de France 09

Mark Cavendish made history by winning the third stage of the 2009 Tour de France.

The 24-year-old is the first Briton to hold the green jersey for two days in a row, after his second successive Tour stage victory, and sixth in career total.

He edged Thor Hushovd on the line to lead home a group of 27 riders.
