Whilst this long ride, road route is in the mainland UK, we like to give you ideas for road rides further afield than just the Isle of Wight.

Devon Coast to Coast: Ilfracombe to Plymouth

Start: Ilfracombe, Devon

Finish: Plymouth, Devon

National Cycle Network routes: No. 3 and 27

Distance: 102 miles

Effort: 4 out of 5

Marked route: yes

Description: The Ilfracombe to Plymouth route combines the beaches and estuaries of north Devon, with the valleys of Torridge, The Tavy, The Walkham and other West Country rivers.

Much of this route follows the western flank of Dartmoor, including Tarka Trail, with if largely following former railway lines, going through tunnels and across viaducts and bridges from the Victorian era of steam railways.
